As part of the ongoing humanitarian response to the catastrophic conditions in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Developmental Women Studies Association (PDWSA), in partnership with ActionAid Palestine and with funded by Irish Emergency Alliance (IEA), implemented an urgent relief intervention, distributing 237 fresh vegetable parcels to displaced families in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the Middle Gaza Strip.
This intervention aims to alleviate the suffering of displaced families and meet their food needs by providing them with fresh vegetables, at a time that Gaza Strip is experiencing catastrophic levels of hunger affecting the entire population. This effort is part of a series of community-based interventions aimed at strengthening families' resilience and providing the minimum basic needs, amid the worsening humanitarian crisis resulting from the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
This intervention comes at a time when the Israeli occupation continues its systematic starvation policy targeting approximately 2.4 million citizens in the Gaza Strip, through the closure of the crossings since March/2025, which has plunged Gaza Strip into famine and exacerbated humanitarian needs.
